- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for one S37-90 radome rated to 200 MPH for the Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR). This radome will be used to replace the FAA's emergency stock radome. The FAA has awarded a contract to L-3 Communications ESSCO, Ayer, MA, the only known source to meet the FAA's supportability requirements. This is done in accordance with AMS Policy 3.2.2.4. This is a one-time firm, fixed price contract. A pre-award announcement was posted on the FAA's Contract Opportunities web site on November 26, 2008 expressing the FAA's intent to negotiate with ESSCO on a single source basis.
