Theproposed contract action is for supplies and services for which theGovernment intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limitednumber of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested personsmay identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirementor submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request forcompetitive proposals. However, all proposals received withinforty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basicordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will beconsidered by the Government. A Determination by the Government not tocompete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice issolely within the discretion of the Government. Information receivedwill normally be considered solely for the purpose of determiningwhether to conduct a competitive procurement.This part required engineering source approval by the design controlactivity in order to maintain the quality of the part. Existing uniquedesign capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge bythe qualified source(s) require acquisition of the part from theapproved source(s). The approved source(s) retain data rights,manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economicallyavailable to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential tomaintaining the quality of the part. An alternate source must qualifyin accordance with the design control activity's procedures, as approvedby the cognizant Government engineering activity. The qualificationprocedures must be approved by the Government engineering activityhaving jurisdiction over the part in the intended application.. See Note(s) 26.
