Description: This work involves repairing approximately 1500 of damaged bank along the Big Papillion Creek. The bank will be excavated back to a design slope into the levee. Rip-rap will be replaced at the toe of the repair section then suitable fill material will be placed and compacted at a stable slope. Geotextile will be placed beneath the fill material. All disturbed areas shall be seeded and fine graded. Suitable borrow material and other construction materials shall be obtained by the contractor from off-site sources. Acquiring all staging areas other than the footprint of the levee and riverside berm shall be a contractor responsibility. A site visit date has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 10:00 am. The meeting location is at J.R.C.'s Express/Shell gas station (location: At the stoplight at the intersection of Hwy 73/75 and LaPlatte Rd, turn west and enter the parking lot. J.R.C.'s is on the west side of Hwy 73/75.) Reservations are required as should inclement weather occur, Contractors will be notified and the site visit will be rescheduled. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
