- Description
- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract for the repair of the spillway stoplogs at Big Cliff Dam and Dexter Dam located on the North Santiam River. The contract work will include picking up the stoplogs from both Dam sites and using all contractor furnished equipment, performing all necessary repair work offsite as stated in the contract, and then delivering all the stoplogs back to the Dams. The fabrication shop performing the work must be Major Steel Bridge Certified with the Fracture Critical Endorsement to perform all weld repairs. All welding performed on the stoplogs shall meet AWS D1.5 requirements. The repair work will consist of removing all of the flange connector plates, portions of the tension flanges, and also portions of the vertical diaphragms as shown on the contract drawings. Once removal of the required flange pieces is complete, new flange plates shall be welded back into place using full penetration welds as detailed on the contract drawings. After flange repairs are completed, all full penetration splices shall be 100% visually and ultrasonically tested. New flange connector plates shall be welded back onto the vertical diaphragms as detailed on the contract drawings. Once all weld repairs have been completed, the stoplogs shall be repainted in all locations that the paint has been removed. All seals, seal bolts, and associated hardware shall be replaced. The existing chain and cable lifting beam rigging shall be replaced with new cable rigging. The Solicitation Package will be available for download on or about 16 February 2009 and quotes due on or about 10 March 2009 by 4:00 pm pacific standard time. Faxed or emailed copies of quotes WILL NOT be accepted. This procurement is unrestricted and open to all interested firms. In order for contractors to conduct business with our agency, which is apart of the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
