Description

Notice of Intent to sole source: Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, “Only One Responsible source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements”, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Federal Investigative Services Division (FISD) intends to issue a sole-source order for total solution service to supply and install a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system to support an ongoing redundancy project for a critical OPM IT system. The lessor of the facility Iron Mountain has total control over the power infrastructure of the facility and has the most knowledgeable support functionality to realistically provide the solution without interrupting current operation and functionality of the OPM IT system that the UPS will support. OPM has determined that the work in question falls under Iron Mountain’s purview because the system will be integrated into the facility power infrastructure; as such a sole source is justified. Therefore, OPM deems it appropriate to award fixed-price agreement on other than a full and open competitive basis to Iron Mountain Inc. Iron Mountain is the available responsible source and no other source will be considered. The North American Standard Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for action is 541513 Facilities (i.e., clients' facilities) support services, computer systems or data processing THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS, AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. FURTHERMORE, IT DOES NOT REPRESENT A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF DATA OR ANY OTHER COASTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. This is not a solicitation for offers, but rather a notice of OPM’s intent to negotiate a sole source award to Iron Mountain, Inc. However responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. This notice is for information only and my represent the only official notice.
