Description
NASA ARC has a requirement for a non-cryogenically cooled Infrared (IR) camera thatcan provide thermal imaging and temperature measurements up to 3000 degrees Celsius tosupport Thermal Protection Systems Branch testing in the Arc Jet Complex. NASA ARC intends to purchase the items from Mikron Infrared, Inc. The specific item beingpurchased is the Mikron M9201 that can provide the necessary measurements without usingcryogenic cooling on the imaging sensor. Another unique feature of this camera is that itoperates in the near IR wavelength spectrum, allowing it to be easily deployed in anyarea of the Arc Jet facility where Fused Silica windows are already installed. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the procurementwill be conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth under FAR Part 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort via email to the identified point of contact no later than 12:00 p.m. (Noon) PSTon February 3, 2009. Please note that this is a hard deadline and that no late responseswill be accepted. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by theGovernment not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
