- Work will include removal and replacement of approximately 1000 cubic feet of granite panels (some weighing several hundred pounds) from concrete wall entrance portico (will require small mobile crane or mechanical lift); approximately 1500 square feet of mortar between panels; pressure washing and sandblasting of approximately 3500 square feet; demolition of approximately 3 cubic feet of concrete slab (4 inch thickness); pour new concrete slab (approximately 200 square feet); remove and replace approximately 100 linear feet of railings; and approximately 400 linear feet of masonry control joint additions/repairs. Estimated magnitude of work is $100,000 - $250,000. The IFB is scheduled to issue on or about February 13, 2009 with bid opening approximately 30 days later. This solicitation is 100% SET ASIDE for HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS concerns. Bidders must be eligible as determined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and must appear on the SBA List of Qualified HUBZONE Small Business Concerns located at https://eweb1.sba.gov/hubzone/internet/. The NAICS code is 238140 and the small business size standard is $14,000,000. The solicitation will be issued in electronic format ONLY and will be posted on FedBizOpps when available. Contractors must register at www.fbo.gov to download the solicitation and can be put on a planholders list at this location that others can access. It is the bidders responsibility to check the internet address for any posted changes/amendments to the solicitation.
