- Description
- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in South Africa requires a Human Capacity Development Officer to oversee a very important component of the PEPFAR Program – institutional strengthening activities. This includes strengthening local community- and faith-based organizations providing prevention, care and treatment for HIV/AIDS. The incumbent will also focus on system strengthening at the Government of South Africa level, as well as at the provincial levels to ensure sustainability of PEPFAR and post-PEPFAR activities. The work of the incumbent is performed in coordination with other Health Team members, and in particular, other HIV/AIDS Program Unit staff and includes the full range of responsibility for planning, implementing, monitoring, and overseeing HIV/AIDS activities related to the PEPFAR, and other Presidential Initiatives, and to USG activities that contribute to wrap-around activities in furtherance of PEPFAR objectives.
