- Description
- The Social Security Administration, Boston, MA has a requirement for contractors to provide medical consultant services in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Primary Care, Osteopathic, General Practice, Psychiatry and Psychology. Consultant services will include providing oral and/or written consultations resulting from review of SSA disability case files, consulting with SSA medical policy staff and/or training other medical consultant contractors. The services involve the review of medical evidence disability claims filed under Titles II and XVI of the Social Security Act. No patient contact will be involved. Basic computer proficiency is necessary to complete forms, read medical records, answer email messages and type narrative consultations. The services will be performed primarily at the Social Security Administration offices located at 99 High Street, Boston, MA and the JFK Federal Bldg., Boston, MA. Offerors must have (1) a valid unrestricted license to practice in this country; and (2) be available for onsite services a minimum of 15 hours per week between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some travel may be involved. This acquisition will be for commercial services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Contractor will be required to pass a security background check which will include completion of fingerprint cards before beginning performance under the contract. To be eligible for contract award, offeror shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database prior to award. To register, go to www.ccr.gov and you must have a DUN and Bradstreet number and Tax Identification Number (TIN) to begin registration. The period of performance will begin approximately April 1, 2009 or date of award, whichever is later, through March 31, 2010 with provisions for four one-year options. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about January 26, 2009 and be downloaded at www.fbo.gov. No telephone requests for the RFQ will be honored and no hard copies of the RFQ will be mailed. This requirement is 100% small business set aside. Offers received from other than small business concerns will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration.
