Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for Design/Build project for a Specialty Clinic, Veterans Affairs (VA), Providence, Rhode Island to determine the interest, availability, and capability of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, 8(a), HUBZone and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220 with a size standard of $33.5 million. The estimated construction cost is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The work involves design/build of a new building addition of not more than 16,000 s.f. in close proximity and connected to Building 1 in order to optimize space layout for patient care. The solicitation will contain a 25% conceptual design and the selected contractor will be required to take the design to completion and ultimately construct the building. Work will also include modifications to existing spaces within Building 1. Utility services, site landscaping and site improvements for pedestrian and vehicular circulation will be required. Relocation of existing above-ground and subsurface utilities as needed to accommodate the new construction. Specialty Clinic addition will be designed per VAs Space Planning Criteria (formerly VA Handbook 7610) for Outpatient Clinics. Work may require modifications to existing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, communication, security, alarm and medical gas systems. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications of the team and experience in performing the work requirements stated above. Please include a specific design/build example that team has performed. Include any experience working in a hospital environment. Proof of bonding capability is required. Responses are due February 6, 2009. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Ms. Alissa Turner. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
