Synopsis/Announcement: Rock Island Contracting Center (RICC) intends to issue a solicitation W52P1J-09-R-0065 for base operations support and security services at various locations throughout the country of Kuwait at a forthcoming date. This is an announcement for a Site-Visit that will be held in Kuwait on February 23-27, 2009. The RICC will host a tour of the following 6 locations: Camp Arifjan, Camp Virginia, Camp Buehring, Ali Al Salem, Sea Port of Debarkation (SPOD) and Kuwait Naval Base (KNB). This Site-Visit is to familiarize companies with the requirements and physical locations of performance for services that will be required under the future Kuwait Base Operations Support Services (K-BOSS) contract. A draft of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) can be accessed at the K-BOSS Acquisition webpage through Army Knowledge Online (AKO) by contacting the Contract POC for this announcement. A valid AKO e-mail address is required to access this site. Only one representative from each organization will be granted access to the website. The PWS can also be provided through standard mail or electronic transmission for organizations that do not have an AKO account by contacting the same POC. The maximum number of Site-Visit representatives from each interested organization is two. Transportation and security will be provided by the Government while conducting the tours of each location as well as to and from the tour sites and the Hilton Kuwait Resort. For security reasons, all participants must use the Government-provided transportation. (NOTE: Although this is the location for pickup and drop-off of Site-Visit participants, lodging is at the discretion and choice of each party.) All parties are responsible for transportation to and from the country of Kuwait and to and from Kuwait City International Airport (KCIA) and their choice of lodging. Please contact the POC for this announcement to receive the K-BOSS Site-Visit information packet. Access to the camps is restricted; therefore, all parties who do not have current installation access must complete an Installation Access Form as well as provide a copy of your passport and photo ID. This information will then be submitted for processing to obtain approval. It must be completed and forwarded to a Contracting POC by the registration date. The Installation Access Form can be found in the information packet. Registration for participation in this K-BOSS site visit must be made no later than February 9, 2009. Interested companies should respond by calling or emailing the Contracting POC. Please reference K-BOSS Site-Visit in the subject of your e-mail. Previously, a sources sought announcement was issued on October 2, 2008 requesting information needed by the Government prior to release of a potential solicitation. This Site-Visit announcement does not constitute a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor to pay for any costs incurred as a result of this notice. Contracting Office Address: Rock Island Contracting Center, ATTN: CCRC-FS, 1 Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL 61299-8000 Place of Performance: Various locations throughout the country of Kuwait
