Description

The Rural Development Electric Program (EP), a division of the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Utilities Service, is experiencing an increased level of interest in financial assistance for the construction of electric generation plants that utilize renewable energy resources. There is a need for engineering consultant services to evaluate an application for an electric generation plant fueled by woody biomass. The 20 MW wood biomass fueled power project is located in the southeast and will be fueled by untreated waste wood (i.e. no pressure treated, painted, plywood, etc.) from forestry residue, mill residue and clean urban wood waste. The project technology will include a refurbished (existing) wood-fired Bigelow Boiler, stationary grate stoker and a re-furbished condensing/extraction turbine generator delivered to the site. All of the electric output will be sold to an electric cooperative.. Any and all questions are due electronically to Dominique.Morant@wdc.usda.gov on January 30, 2009 by 5pm Est. No questions submited after the due date will be answered. Proposals due February 11, 2009 by 2pm Est.
