- The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking qualified Design/Build firms to provide architect and engineering services for design and seismic upgrades to Buildings 2, 3 and 4; and for Building 4 HVAC upgrades at the Los Angeles Job Corps Center located in Los Angeles, California. The work consists of services for the 100% design of the seismic upgrade work in Buildings 2, 3 and 4 with the intent of bringing the existing buildings into compliance with Presidential Executive Order 12941, dated December 1, 1994, and upgrades to the existing HVAC system in Building 4 at the Los Angeles Job Corps Center. Additional work shall include the 100% design of temporary classroom spaces in Building 16 to accommodate existing classroom functions during the seismic upgrade work. In addition to design, work shall include construction documentation preparation, printing, bidding services and construction administration services. We are looking for firms that qualify under the Small Business Programs mentioned in the Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 19. When submitting your response, please indicate under which programs you meet the criteria. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT for planning purposes only. Market research is being conducted to determine if there are small businesses with the capabilities and experience to perform the required work. The work includes national and local code review and applicable design modifications, civil and utility design and construction, foundation design and construction, updating the design of all major building systems, modifications to the building as required by the Scope of Work. The work also includes demolition and removal/abandonment of existing utility elements and restoration of the site areas impacted by construction operations. The work shall meet the design intent of the Scope of Work and the requirements of the Government owned conceptual design. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541310, and the Small Business Standard is $4.5 million. All interested parties are invited to submit a capabilities statement to include three projects completed within the last five years that are relevant to the work that will be required under this project.
