Description
The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking qualified Design/Build firms to provide design and construction services for a site adapt for a new dormitory at the Homestead Job Corps Center in Homestead, Florida. We are looking for firms that qualify under the Small Business Programs mentioned in the Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 19. When submitting your response, please indicate under which programs you meet the criteria. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT for planning purposes only. Market research is being conducted to determine if there are small businesses with the capabilities and experience to perform the required work. The work requires design and construction services to site adapt a new 136-bed dormitory at the Homestead Job Corps Center located in Homestead, Florida. The work includes national and local code review and applicable design modifications, civil and utility design and construction, foundation design and construction, updating the design of all major building systems, modifications to the building as required by the Scope of Work, and the construction of the dormitory. The work also includes demolition and removal/abandonment of existing utility elements and restoration of the site areas impacted by construction operations. The work shall meet the design intent of the Scope of Work and the requirements of the Government owned conceptual design. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAISC) is 236220, and the Small Business Standard is $33.5 million. All interested parties are invited to submit a capabilities statement to include three projects completed within the last five years that are relevant to the work that will be required under this project. Provide a point of contact for each project listed. Your capabilities statement shall be submitted to Ms. Eileen Garnett, Contract Specialist, U.S. Department of Labor, OASAM, BOC, OPS, Division of Job Corps A&E and Construction Services, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, RM N4308, Washington, DC 20210. Responses are due February 3, 2009 by 2:00p.m. EDT. Electronic copies of capability statements can be emailed to garnett.eileen@dol.gov. No telephone calls will be accepted. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
