Description
This combined synopsis/ solicitation is in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located at 1300 W. Richey Avenue, Artesia, New Mexico, intends to award a firm-fixed purchase order for Sani Sport Sanitizing Machine Double Size. Item request as follows: 2 each, Sani Sport Sanitizing Machines, Double Size. Item will be purchased under a Name Brand Justification according to FAR 6.302-1. Only the Sani Sport Sanitizing Machine will be acceptable. Item to: accommodate one large set of hockey or football equipment, extremely durable stainless steel, Caster wheels, Dimensions: 23" Deep x 45" Wide x 67" High, no piping, drains or external hookups required. Name Brand Justification: After careful consideration, the PTD concluded the Sani Sport autoclave sanitation machine was the optimal unit. The Sani Sport has been in production/use longer and offers the largest machine. The Sani Sport has a patented process whereby the generated ozone is filtered into the cabinet eliminating any residual ozone. The other systems fail to remove the leftover ozone, thereby exposing the operator to the harmful gas. The Sani Sport utilizes an automated Encomiast spray (tea tree oil, water, and silver) which coats the equipment with a protective barrier. Bacteria must go through this barrier in order infiltrate the gear. The Sani Sport system has one of the shortest run cycles and does not require any maintenance, unlike its competitors. The Sani Sport autoclave sanitation machine will sanitize; it will not wash the protective gear, and will not replace the need for contract staff in the TSE room. A modification to the current contract would be required to accommodate the new cleaning procedures. The Sani Sport system would eliminate the need for each student to be issued a pair of grappling gloves and will sanitize all of the protective gear, including the gloves. There are three brands of ozone generating autoclave sanitation machines available: Sani Sport, Sports-O-Zone, and Fresh Gear. All three systems are basically a sealed cabinet that generate a high concentration of ozone. All systems included scientific data validating the success of their product's ability to kill up to 99.9 percent of tested bacteria. Larger machines will clean more equipment in less time, thereby reducing the number of cycles to be run. The Sani Sport has been in production/use longer and offers the largest machine.
