Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) has plans to award a sole source/Cost Plus Incentive Fee Contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516 Contract to develop and field an Infrared Search and Track (IRST) system for the F/A-18 E/F by the end of FY-14. The effort will consist of installing upgraded components from the legacy AS/AAS-42 IRST system into a modified 480 gallon centerline fuel tank, and integrating this system to the aircraft to provide autonomous IR search and track capability to the aircrew. MDC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 Weapon System, and only MDC has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR’s requirements The primary POC for this acquisition is Mrs. Ozdem S.
