- The United States Army TACOM Contracting Center in Warren, MI (TCC-Warren) will be issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the acquisition of technical and engineering services for a total 782,080 level- of- effort hours to support the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC). The estimated basic effort for this is 2,000 hours, with one option for 193,520 hours and three additional options of 195,520 hours. Refer to RFP for actual basic and option hour totals. The government intends to award one cost plus fixed fee contract as a result of this solicitation. The RFP is being issued on a full and open competition basis under RFP number W56HZV-09-R-0123. This level-of- effort will be utilized to support TARDECs Software Engineering Center (SEC), Intelligent Ground Systems Division (IGS), and the Technical Program Manager Office for Unmanned Ground Vehicles (TPM UGV) in their engineering and science and technology missions. These missions emphasize technical engineering in support of PM Future Combat System (FCS) BCT, Program Managers within PEO-Ground Combat Systems including PM Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV), PM Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), PM Mine Resistance Ambush Protection (MRAP), PM Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT), PM Robotics System Joint Project Office (RS-JPO) and TARDEC Army and Technology Objective (ATO), Advanced Technology Demonstrator (ATD) programs and other Army/Government organizations or their successor. The technical engineering services include post production software support (PPSS), lifecycle software engineering support to the program managers in the acquisition and development of their main weapon systems platforms, and support of projects within TARDEC managed and supported by TARDEC personnel. The estimated release date of RFP W56HZV-09-R-0123 is 24 FEB 2009. The estimated due date for receipt of proposals is 10 APR 2009.
