Description
The Alaska Fishery Science Center will be conducting bottom trawl and groundfish surveys of the Gulf of Alaska and Aleutian Islands. Two contracts will be awarded to provide up to one trawler each for these surveys. Each contract will be multi-year that includes a base year plus four (4) years. The period of performance is May 2009 through September 2013. Each charter period will be 75 days with an optional 15 days beginning during May of each year. The vessel must meet the following minimum requirements: Overall length of 36.5 m (120 ft); main engine continuous 1000 horsepower; vessel must be able to tow the standard survey trawl, a 27.4/36.5 m (90/120 ft) Poly Nor'Eastern trawl with rubber bobbin roller gear at a continuous speed of 5.6 km/hr (3 kts) under weather conditions considered safe and typical for survey sampling. Vessel must be able to maintain a minimum cruising speed of 16.8 km/hr (9 nm/hr) in low sea states; must have fuel capacity for approximately 50 days of continuous fishing operations; completely rigged for trawling including; and, clean and sanitary accommodations for captain and crew and Government scientific field party of six (6) both male and female. More detailed vessel and crew requirements will be identified in the solicitation. Documents for the Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available on or about February 23, 2009, to download through the Governments website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. No paper copies will be issued. Interested parties should use the FedBizOpps [REGISTER TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION] and [REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR] features which provide notification when the RFP becomes available for download as well as all postings of information associated with this solicitation, thereafter. Each potential offeror is responsible for checking this website to gain all current information related to this solicitation. The NAICS Code is 532411 with a size standard of $7 million. All contractors doing business with the Government must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR.
