Description
The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for lease of a research vessel for cruising in the Virgin Islands (British & American) Cruise is approximately 15 days with mobilization for (3-4 days) demobilization (1-3 days),. Desired time to complete the cruise dates to be determined between 03/20/09 and 04/19/09 in accordance with Task Order. The work will be 24 hours and 12 hour days.Mobilization and demobilization will be in Puerto Rico. VESSEL REQUIREMENTS: The vessel shall be fully licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard as required by law and shall have passed appropriate U.S Coast Guard requirements for safety and seaworthiness. Vessel shall be from 50 feet LOA, beam of 8 feet or greater, draft of no more than 8 feet. Vessel should have reserve buoyancy to accommodate approximately 550 kilograms of scientific equipment. Vessel shall be self propelled, have a transit speed of at least 8 knots, and be capable of sustaining survey/steerage speeds of 3-5 knots without steering off course. Vessel shall provide both 220 single phase and 110 single phase power. A clear after deck of 100 square feet that will accommodate and secure government supplied research equipment, A frame, Enclosed space of approximately 20 square feet for computers and associated acquisition electronics, appropriate side mount for over the side gamble mounted transducer pole, Aft mounted tugger or winch for equipment recovery. The vessel must have adequate accommodations for up to 6 scientific stall, separate accommodations for females, if available but not mandatory. Accommodations, also include three (3) standard meals per day and a midnight meal (during 24 hour operations) RFQ 09ERQQ0258 will be issued on or about 02/04/2009 with written quotes due on or about 02/12/2009 The NAICS code is 532411 The anticipated award date of the contract is 02/25/2009.
