- The Fort Knox Mission and Installation Contracting Command is conducting market research for the following requirement: Daily transportation for the Fort Knox Community Schools and Fort Campbell Community Schools during the period 15 July 2009 through 14 July 2010, with (1) one-year option period. Services include, but are not limited to: Fort Knox Community Schools: - Provide daily transportation for approximately 1000 students to and from Mudge, Van Voorhis, Walker, Kingsolver, Macdonald, Pierce, Scott, and Fort Knox High School. Includes one (1) special needs monitor for each special education bus and one (1) bus monitor for each Pre-School bus. 180 days per school year. - Provide transportation for Special Activity Trips. Approximately 2,100 hours per school year. - Provide transportation for Special Activity Trips. Approximately 20,000 miles per school year. - Provide transportation for Special Needs population to include bus monitors in support of the Extended School Year Program (EIYP). Approximately 11 days per school year. Fort Campbell Community School: - Provide daily transportation for approximately 3000 students to and from Barkley, Lincoln, Marshall, Jackson, Lucas, Wasson, Mahaffey, and Fort Campbell High School. Includes one (1) special needs monitor for each special education bus and one (1) bus monitor for each Pre-School bus. 180 days per school year. - Provide transportation for Special Activity Trips. Approximately 3,000 hours per school year. - Provide transportation for Special Activity Trips. Approximately 45,200 miles per school year. - Provide transportation for Special Needs population to include bus monitors in support of the Extended School Year Program (EIYP). Approximately 20 days per school year. The appropriate NAICS code is 485410 with a size standard of $7,000,000.00. This synopsis is not a request for proposal. It is a market research tool being used to determine procurement strategy. Appropriate procurement strategy will be determined after consideration of industry response to this sources sought synopsis. The government is not obligated to, and will not, pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. NOTE: For any acquisition set-aside for small business, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.219-14, Limitations on Subcontracting, will apply and will require the prime contractor to self-perform at least 50 percent of the labor with its own employees. Prime contractors cannot subcontract the entire effort. Again, this applies only to small business set-asides. Responses to this announcement must be received no later than 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009.
