Description
The US Army Contracting Command Joint Munitions & Lethality Contracting CenterManeuver Ammo Center at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to provide 800 each Inert 120mm Propellant Charges, part number 1291068, for PM FCS (BCT) testing purposes. Delivery schedule is crucial and must be 60 days after date of award to BAE Systems, 4800 East River Road, Minneapolis, MN, 55421. PM FCS (BCT) is responsible for the Warfighter Integrated Product Team (IPT) and multiple Manned Ground Vehicle (MGV) variants and their associated Complimentary Programs. The type of contract contemplated is a new firm-fixed price non-commercial award with the other than full and open competition strategy being a sole-source award to ARMTEC DEFENSE PRODUCTS CO INC, (ARMTEC) Coachella, CA 92236-2607. PM FCS personnel reviewed available DoD contracts to see if this requirement could either be placed against an existing contract or if additional sources could be identified for this requirement. No other source can meet our requirement within our required timeframe. The contracting activity also published a market survey/sources sought announcement on FedBizOpps from 21 January 2009 through 29 January 2009. No interested sources responded to the announcement. Effective competition is not anticipated for this acquisition. Armtec is considered the only responsible source for these supplies IAW the authority at FAR 6.302-1. It is not anticipated that this solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps. All responsible sources may electronically submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. For an electronic copy of the solicitation, please contact the contract specialist identified below. The basic contract is planned for award in second quarter FY 2009. The requirement will consist of a base period of one year (12 months).
