- Description
- Action Code: NA THIS SOLICITATION WAS ORIGINALLY POSTED AS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE FA8125-09-Q-0033. THIS ACQUISITION IS SET ASIDE AS 100% TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS. See attached solicitation notice FA8125-09-Q-0033 for item details, shipping, delivery, and quantities. This acquisition is for brand name items per Justification and Approval: V. DEMONSTRATION THAT THE CONTRACTOR'S UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OR NATURE OF THE ACQUISITION REQUIRES THE USE OF THE AUTHORITY CITED ABOVE (APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY) Items must be the manufacturer and part numbers that have been requested. It's critical to have uniform lighting throughout the production shops to eliminate dark shadows and create safety hazards to equipment operators. The existing lighting system was designed to work with the above part numbers and will not require re-wiring the building. Some of the parts above will be used to repair the existing fixtures. This Ballast, fixture, and lamp combination above will deliver the most combined light output and energy savings. This is a brand name request and not a sole source, therefore this is available in the commercial market place and available to any vendor. Building 9001 is engineered to use the Hubbel lighting system, part number CH-40E5-M-EUCFB-C4HL5-LRI-TR16. Bldg 9001 was pre-wired to add additional light fixtures (on the existing circuits) as identified above and will not require extensive re-wiring. However to use a different brand and achieve uniform light distribution the electricians would have to remove all the existing fixtures, conduit, and wiring and start over, in lieu of just supplementing the existing lighting by adding additional fixtures.
