- Description
- The Government is seeking sources for the fabrication and delivery and installation of a quantity of small platforms to attach to shock absorbing concrete (SACON) structures to support portable target lifters for presentation in windows and wall tops. SACON is typically 24-30 inch thick, poured concrete and is assembled to replicate buildings in urban training settings. The target lifters are battery powered and remote controlled to alternately expose and hide cardboard or fiberglass man-sized silhouette targets. There is a requirement for protecting the lifting mechanism from ricochets, splash and errant rounds while exposing the targets in a realistic manner. Mounting the platforms below the bottom of the window and below the level of the wall tops allows the SACON to accomplish this protection. A total of 40 target platforms are required and are described below. Window Platform: a mounting platform with minimum dimensions 32" wide X 30" deep with the ability to bolt a stationary infantry target lifter onto its surface. The platform shall be affixed to a window opening locating the platform below the window opening at a minimum of 12 inches. Overall height of the platform mounting bracket shall not exceed 34". The SIT holder shall be height adjustable over a 6 inch range of vertical movement. The platform shall remain solid when the target is presented and lowered. The floor of the platform shall be wire or expanded metal with drainage openings not exceeding 1.5" and capable of allowing " bolts to be installed through it. The platform shall be capable of supporting 150 lbs. All materials shall be primed and painted gray or sand in color. A total of 30 window platforms are required.Top-Wall Platforms: a wall mounted platform with minimum dimensions 32" wide X 30" deep with the ability to bolt a SIT target onto its surface. The platform shall be affixed to the top of a wall and the floor of the platform shall sit below the top of the wall at a minimum of 12 inches. The SIT holder shall be height adjustable over a 6 inch range of movement vertically. A total of 10 top-wall platforms are required. The award will be approximately $33,000 with an anticipated delivery date of 90 days after contract award. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation.
