Description
The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Project is interested in four to sixspace flight qualified Global Positioning System Antennas for the GPM Core Observatory. This notice is issued by the NASA/GSFC to post a Request for Information via theinternet, and solicit responses from interested parties. This document is forinformation and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verifyreasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition.The GPM mission is one of the next generation satellite-based Earth science constellationmissions that will study global precipitation (rain, snow and ice). The following are the requirements for the space flight qualified GPS Antenna:4dBi RHCP Omni antenna (hemispherical coverage)1.57542 GHz with +/- 20MHz minimum, 3dB bandwidth40 dB minimum, LNA at antenna, with a maximum NF of 3 dBRF output shall have a 50 ohm characteristic impedance with a maximum of 1.5 : 1 VSWR5VDC power, supplied via co-axial cable, to the RF output of the LNAThe GPM Project encourages all industry sources with expertise in providing GPS antennasto respond to this RFI. The responses should demonstrate technical feasibility,operational robustness and reliability and estimates for the cost and schedule to deliverfour to six space flight qualified antennas.It is not NASA's intent to publicly disclose vendor proprietary information obtainedduring this solicitation. To the full extent that it is protected pursuant to theFreedom of Information Act and other laws and regulations, information identified by arespondent as "Proprietary or Confidential" will be kept confidential.GSFC is seeking capabilities from all potential sources for the purposes of determiningthe appropriate level of competition. This is not a solicitation announcement. If asolicitation is released, it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor these sitesfor the release of any solicitation or synopsis. This RFI is for planning andinformation purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government toenter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for informationsolicited.
