Description
BACKGROUND: The United States Marshals Service (USMS) has a responsibility to Relocate, Store, Maintain, and Sell seized and/or forfeited Vehicles throughout the United States. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) This announcement is posted as a RFI only, for an upcoming solicitation that will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov. This request for information is issued to determine whether there are qualified sources that will be able to meet the requirement. The solicitation will be for the Towing, Storage, Maintenance and Disposal of Vehicles to the General Public as a customary business practice in San Francisco, CA Metropolitan Area. The Vehicle services contract will be for a Based Year and (4) Four one year options. If you have an interest in the upcoming solicitation, please provide a written response to the questions below. Provide your response to Shannon Dinkelman, Property Management Specialist via email at Shannon.dinkelman@usdoj.gov or you may fax your response to 202-307-5020, Attn: Shannon Dinkelman. You are advised that providing responses to the questions will not automatically include you in the acquisition process for this solicitation. All responses are due by February 20, 2009. Is it customary and offered to the General Public that your firm provides maintenance on Vehicles stored at your facility to ensure that a Vehicle is kept in the same condition as when towed to your storage facility? Is it customary and offered to the General Public that records are maintained showing maintenance performed on Vehicles stored at your facility? Is your facility able to segregate and properly identify USMS Vehicles from Non-USMS Vehicles? Can your firm provide auctioneer services to dispose of seized vehicles? Is it customary that when your firm auctions a Vehicle that the auction price is governed by the pricing guidelines established by NADA. Is it customary for your firm to clean a Vehicle prior to the auctioning of that Vehicle? Indicate whether your firm can provide ____indoor and ____outdoor storage for vehicles? Is your outdoor storage facility fenced and secured? How much square footage does your indoor storage facility have? Can your firm provide towing services for ____small, _____medium, _____large, _____ vehicles, and ____ Tractors Trailers? Can your firm provide storage services for ____small, _____medium, _____large, _____ vehicles, and ____ Tractors Trailers? Are you aware of any Laws and Regulations that are unique to the services being acquired? Does your firm possess the necessary licenses and permits to conduct business for these services in the proposed state? Is it customary to offer warranty, buyer financing, discounts, etc.., under which commercial services you provided to the General Public?
