Description
Request for Information Refurbishment and Installation of SEM Model 1424 Disintegrator and Associated Equipment The Bureau of the Public Debt is conducting market research to locate contractors capable of refurbishing and installing an SEM Model 1424 Disintegrator and associated equipment. Refurbishment and installation of this equipment shall meet the following requirements: 1) Disconnect and crate the disintegrator and conveyor unit at its current location in Parkersburg, WV. 2) Ship the disintegrator and conveyor unit to the Contractor's location for refurbishing. 3) Perform refurbishment of disintegrator to include a 5-blade, precision-balanced rotor. 4) Inspect the conveyor unit and perform any necessary repairs. 5) Design, provide, and install a master control panel adequate to control all system components. 6) Contractor shall ship refurbished equipment to a new site in Parkersburg, WV and perform the installation. 7) Installation shall include, but is not limited to: • Refurbished disintegrator • SEM Model 814 Briquettor System (already purchased) • Cart tipper • Conveyor and sound tunnel • Microfilm collection system • Master Control Panel • Waste handling system 8) The Contractor shall be required to troubleshoot and demonstrate successful operation of the system. 9) The Contractor shall provide training to all designated operators. 10) The upgraded disintegrator shall carry a five-year warranty on defective parts and workmanship. All other system components shall have a one-year warranty on defective parts. Labor shall be warranted for ninety days. 11) All upgrades, installation and training must be performed by factory-trained technicians. Qualified contractors must provide the following: 1. The name and location of your company, contact information, and identify your business size (Small Business, Large Business, Disadvantaged Business, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, or HubZone) based on NAICS Code 333319, size standard 500 employees. Please ensure contact information includes the name of the point of contact, email address, and telephone number should the Government have questions regarding individual responses. 2. Whether your services are available through a GSA Schedule or Open Market. 3. A brief capabilities statement that includes a description of your company's standard line of business, as well as a list of customers your company currently provides these services for. Responses to this request must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. ET on February 20, 2009 and may be submitted electronically to PSB2@bpd.treas.gov to the attention of Geoff Barnes. The following file extensions are not allowable and application materials/data submitted with these extensions cannot be considered:.bat,.cmd,.com,.exe,.pif,.rar,.scr,.vbs,.hta,.cpl, and.zip files. Microsoft Office compatible documents are acceptable. No other information regarding this RFI will be provided at this time. This notice does not restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that the response is not a request that will be considered for contract award. All interested parties will be required to respond to any resultant solicitation separately from their response to this sources sought notice. Interested offerors may register at http://www.fedbizopps.gov to receive notification when the solicitation and any amendments are issued and available for downloading. Please note that the General Services Administration provides the notification service as a convenience and does not guarantee that notifications will be received by all persons on the mailing list.
