- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The VA Salt Lake City Health Care System is performing market research to determine if there is sufficient number of qualified Contractors to set aside for the Courier Service with a priority on a competitive Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Acquisition. The Government will use responses to this notice to make the appropriate acquisition decision. The proposed solicitation will be issued in accordance with FAR Part 15, Negotiations. Interested and qualified sources that fall into the above mentioned categories are invited to submit their Capability Statements, No later than the date stated in this announcement, consisting of appropriate documentation, literature and references that include current point of contract and telephone number. Responses must included (1) recent and relevant Federal government experience within the last three calendar years for Courier Services, size, scope and complexity to this notice. Include contract number, location, scope of work, timeliness of performance and customer satisfaction; (2) This requirement will be to deliver/pickup mail, lab specimens, and linens on a daily basis from surrounding Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), and the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System and neighboring Health Laboratories and Utah Department of Health for the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System. (3) The contractor is required to have employees trained in the courier requirements of transporting lab specimens and/or potentially infectious specimens in appropriate safety and packaging procedures suitable to specimen type and distances transported. The contractor will be responsible to provided this training to his/her employee's the VA Salt Lake City Health Care Systems will not pay this, Documentation of said certified training for all personnel's involved in the packaging and delivery of infectious material will need to be provided to the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System before the contractor begins working on the contract after award.
