- The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity proposes to solicit and award on a brand name only basis for an EMC Storage Area Network (SAN). The reason for brand name only request is that the EMC brand is for a replacement system for our current EMC SAN, an upgrade to our current system. The support computer infrastructure is already in place i.e. Servers and data back-up system link to the SAN. Partition of network drives i.e. J: Drive, S: Drive would not require extensive reconfiguration. Providing seamless transition to WRAIR researchers. Competing this requirement and awarding to any other source would result in substantial delays and disruption of a sustem already in place and would also increase the overall cost to the Government. Solicitation No. W81XWH-09-T-0110 will be issued on or about 06 March 2009 and proposals will be due on or about 16 March 2009 @ 1:30 PM EST. This procurement shall be under other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source (brand) and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334112 with a size standard of 1000 employees. No hard copies of the solicitation will be issued by this contracting office. All interested parties can view, download and print a copy of the solicitation and any resulting amendments on or about 07 March 2009 at the following website: www.usamraa.army.mil, click on Solicitations, then click View Additional Solicitation on the ASFI website. In accordance with DFARS 252.204-7004, all contractors wishing to do business with the Department of Defense must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. CCR registration can be accomplished at the following website: www.ccr.gov. Proposals will be evaluated on a Commercial Firm Fixed Price and any resulting contract will be issued as a Firm Fixed Price Award.
