Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to solicit diving services for the Narragansett Bay Shallow Water Test Facility (NBSWTF). A five year, firm-fixed price contract is planned with an estimated start date of 1 October 2009. It will consist of a base year and four (4) one year options. Diving services will include search and recovery of items on the sea floor; underwater photography (still and video); cable installation and inspection; underwater ship's husbandry; installation, inspection and repair of mooring and anchoring systems and other underwater work as required. It is important to note that due to fluctuations of test events schedules and workloads, this tasking will be supported as required on a part-time, on-call basis. Notification of required support will be given at least one day prior to events and notification of event cancellation can be as little as one hour. This acquisition will be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisi! tion Procedures and FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items. This procurement is 100% Set Aside for Small Business. NAICS Code 561990, size standard $7.0 million. Evaluation factors for award will include: technical capability, past performance and price. Further details will be released upon issue of RFP # N66604-09-R-1747, which is anticipated to be on or about 03/10/2009. For additional information on this acquisition, please contact Irma Mattei at 401-832-8479, irma.s.mattei@navy.mil.
