Description
ARMY COMBAT GLOVE APPROVED PRODUCTS LIST. The Product Manager- Clothing and Individual Equipment (PM-CIE), under Program Executive Office Soldier (PEO Soldier) is offering manufacturers the opportunity to participate in the Army Combat Glove (ACG) Approved Products List (APL). PM-CIE maintains an APL to assist Commanders and individual Soldiers in choosing flame resistant (FR) protective hand wear that is suitable and safe for their needs. The APL will be used to inform Soldiers of items which meet U.S. Army requirements and may be purchased for mission use. By offering Soldiers a choice of FR hand wear in a variety of styles, PM-CIE believes Soldiers are more likely to wear hand protection when needed. Improvements in protective hand wear are continuously sought as technologies advance and styles change. The APL will be coordinated with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) to facilitate the purchase of APL items through the AAFES Military Clothing Sales Stores (MCSS), as well as additional supply chain outlets. Approved gloves will remain on the APL for three years subject to the terms outlined in the policy. Manufacturers with gloves on the currently approved APL must also be aware of changes to the existing policy. Gloves currently on the list that do not meet the item description on the new APL Policy will be automatically removed. The APL Program includes an operational suitability assessment phase of testing. Typical testing trials may include: fit and flex assessment, dexterity, keyboard operation, radio control operation, MOUT/Obstacle Course. Soldiers will be asked to provide subjective feedback on the performance of the worn gloves. Observations, task accuracy and times, questionnaire results and feedback from the test participants will be used to assess the performance and functionality of the ACG APL candidates in various missions and environments. If the glove is acceptable to the Soldier and does not hinder mission accomplishment, the glove will be deemed acceptable for the APL. The newly approved policy is available by emailing the POC below. All submissions shall be provided by the vendor at no cost or obligation to the Government. Responses to this notice are to be sent to Mr. Darren Bean, PM-CIE, ATTN: AMSRD-NSC-WP-WA, D225, Kansas St., Natick, MA 01760-5019. This notice is for a market survey only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. No solicitation document exists. POC for this request is Darren Bean (508) 233-5840, FAX (508) 233-6493, or email darren.bean@us.army.mil.
