- This is a sources sought announcement only. This is not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to gain knowledge of current market capabilities. There is no solicitation available at this time. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this RFI, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. This RFI does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Any information provided in response to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only and will not be released. Any proprietary information submitted will be protected if appropriately marked. Vendor participation is not a promise of future business with the Government. The purpose of this RFI is to conduct Market Research to determine an acquisition strategy. The Department of Veterans Affairs James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tennessee 37684 is seeking to obtain sources and information from sources to provide a Radiation Physicist/ Radiation Safety Officer. One or more of the following Certification Boards shall certify the Radiation Physicist: The American Board of Radiology in Radiological Physics, The American Board of Medical Physics, or the American Board of Health Physics. Shall be licensed in as State Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. The Radiation Physicist(s) must also have a minimum of two (2) years post graduate degree experience working in Hospital Medical Physics as a Health Physicist and have Radiation Safety Officer experience beyond formal training. James H. Quillen VAMC requires an extended commitment term of at least (six) months with an option to extend six to twelve additional months. The physicist shall provide services 40 hours per week, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Contractor shall also ensure the availability of the physicist for emergency consultation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. This is not a request for competitive quotes. It is a notice to obtain possible sources that have the potential candidate capacity & capability of providing Radiation Physicist/ Radiation Safety Officer Services on-site at the James H. Quillen VAMC as described in this notice and in similar scope as documented in the attached Draft Statement of Work titled, "Radiation Physicist/ Radiation Safety Officer - James H. Quillen VAMC, 2-25-09."
