- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award an Indefinite Delivery - Requirements contract to the International Council of Air Shows(ICAS)for the purpose of acquiring Air Show Ground and Air Operations Safety Training. The course consists of air show, air & ground operations issues including: site layout, regulatory concerns, event coordination, aircraft support, emergency planning and air show briefings. The contract period of performance will consist of a base year with 2 one-year option periods. The estimated cost of the contract will exceed $100,000. The International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) is a 501(c)6) non-for-profit trade association composed of professionals working in the air show community. The International Council of Air Shows organization, in collaboration with military and civilian governmental authorities, establishes and enforces standards that define the air show business. ICAS is the recognized authority on air show operations by providing information, training and continuing education needs to the air show industry. ICAS is the only known source that has the safety course acceptable for training FAA inspectors. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures.
