- <IMPORTANT NOTICE --- IMPORTANT NOTICE ---- IMPORTANT NOTICE--- THIS BELOW PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE WAS INADVERTENTLY POSTED TO AN INCORRECT SOLICITATION NUMBER. THE SOLICITATION NUMBER SHOULD HAVE READ AS: W912P6-09-B-0007. WITH THAT, THIS ADVERTISEMENT WILL BE POSTED UNDER THE PROPER SOLICITATION NUMBER. ALL OTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE ACQUISITION REMAINS THE SAME WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ISSUE DATE AND BID OPENING DATE. POTENTIAL BIDDERS INTERESTED IN THIS PROJECT SHALL ACCESS PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FROM FBO UNDER THE SOLICITATION NUMBER "W912P6-09-B-0007." p> This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids to obtain dredging services for the Calumet Harbor, Chicago, IL. PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract set, the Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials, and equipment to perform mechanical Dredging to remove 120,000 CY of silty material from Calumet Harbor. The harbor will be dredged to -28.0' LWD (Low Water Datum) with 1' of overdepth allowed. Dredge material shall be placed at the government furnished Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) adjacent to the harbor. Debris is expected to be encountered and contractor will be required to properly dispose of all debris. During dredging the Contractor will be required to dewater the CDF by pumping the water through the filter cells and into Calumet River. ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to small business concerns. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990 with a small business size standard of $33.5M. The magnitude of cost for this construction project is estimated between $1M and $5M. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from the Internet Site http://www.fedteds.gov. The IFB will be available at the above-mentioned Internet site on or about 2 March 2009. The due date for bids will be on or about 2 April 2009 at 2:00 pm CDT. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Contractors can access the CCR for free at http//www.ccr.gov. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price CONSTRUCTION contract from this acquisition.
