- 1.Scope: a.Background: Domestic Violence is identified as one of the most significant causes of injury in Shiprock Service Unit. Since 1987, there has been a local domestic violence task force, which has addressed elder abuse, partner abuse, child abuse, and suicide. The task force has focused on inter-agency cooperation, resource development, and community awareness. b.Purpose: The major goal of this project is to provide consultation services in the development and implementation of domestic violence projects including a crisis line, victims support group, perpetrator treatment and support group for male batters and public awareness programs. 2.Requirements a.Tasks 1.)Domestic Violence victims support group. Vendor will provide services in both Shiprock and several other community sites within SRSU, including implementing groups within at least two outline community sites. 2.)Domestic Violence perpetrator treatment and support group for male batters. Vendor will operate Men’s perpetrator support/education group for male batterers, including resources from the Duluth Domestic Violence Project and Navajo Traditional Philosophy. These materials will be tested, and then used as the basis for groups. Vendor will work with the courts and referral sources to develop referral and tracking system for referred cases. 3.)Domestic Violence public awareness programs. Vendor will develop community-based trainings on domestic violence issues for the community at large as well as for specific groups including court staff, social services staff, police, and for the peacemaker courts. Vendor will conduct a series of community activities to raise awareness of the issues of domestic violence and the local resources available for victims 4.)Domestic Violence mentor-ship program Vendor will provide services in both Shiprock and several other community sites within SRSU, including implementing a mentor-ship for kids and adults within the community. b.Reporting Requirements Contractor shall provide monthly summary reports to Director of Community Health, Shiprock Service Unit. Contractor will provide copies of all curricula developed to Director of Community Health Services c.Deliverables Contractor shall provide written summary report and outline of subject areas with modification suggested by consultant team. d.Schedule Upon award of contract vendor will initiate project and the final project should be delivered within three (3) months after the date of contract award. Place of delivery Office of Community Health Services, Shiprock Service Unit - PO Box 160, Shiprock, New Mexico 87420. Method of delivery shall be in person by mail or federal express. e.Period of performance Project is estimated to take three (3) months. f.Government property No government property being used in the exercise of this team. 3.Quality Assurance Provisions These will include inspection of preliminary and final materials delivered to Director of Community Health Services, Shiprock Service Unit and review of interim editing materials by Community Health Services staff. Progress meeting will take place in person or by phone at least monthly between contractor and Director of Community Health Service during the performance period of the contract. 4.References Development of this project has previously been approved and supported by Shiprock Service Unit Health Promotion staff. Summary Contractor will provide consultation services to Shiprock Service Unit for the development of: 1) Domestic violence victims support group, 2) Operate Domestic violence Men’s perpetrator and support group for male batters, 3) Domestic violence public awareness programs and 4) Domestic violence mentor-ship program.
