Description
Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to the Coastal Resources Associates, Inc., 302 A Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA, 92054-2525, a small business. Coastal Resources Associates, Inc. has been engaged in research and monitoring in the nearshore Gulf of Alaska for the last 20 years. In 2001, Coastal Resources Associates, Inc. designed the monitoring for the Nearshore Gulf Ecosystem Monitoring Project. Since 2004, Coastal Resources Associates, Inc. has been involved with implementing vital signs monitoring in the Southwest Alaska Network (SWAN) area parks. For this project, the service required will assist the National Park Service in the development of its marine nearshore monitoring program. The sole source justification is under authority of FAR 6.302-1 (a) (2). The value of this contract is expected to be less than $90,000. NAICS: 541620Size Standard: $7 Million The National Park Service (NPS), Southwest Area Network (SWAN) requires the following services: a) Selection, set-up and sampling of the soft sediment intertidal intensive sites along the Lake Clark National Park & Preserve, Alaska coastline. b) Resampling of the soft sediment intensive sites, rocky intertidal intensive sites, systematic marine bird and mammal transects, systematic black oystercatcher transects, sea otter diet and skulls, and standard operating procedure development and testing for monitoring eelgrass beds at Katmai and Kenai Fjords National Parks, Alaska. c) Provide expert knowledge to assist SWAN staff and cooperators in the development of a prototype decision model that formally links sea otter monitoring and resource management decisions in SWAN parks. d) Complete an annual update of the protocol for nearshore marine of the SWAN parks following Oakley et al. guidelines. The government will consider all expressions of interest (EOIs) received prior to 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis and before 4:00 pm Alaska standard time. EOIs sent via the U.S. Postal Service should be mailed to: National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office, Attn: Erica Cordeiro, 240 W 5th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99501. EOIs sent via Federal Express or hand carried must be delivered to the same address above during weekdays, excluding federal holidays, between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm.
