THIS IS ONLY THE ADVANCED NOTICE. NO RESPONSE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. THE SOLICITATION INCLUDING THE SCOPE OF WORK WILL BE POSTED AFTER MARCH 16, 2009 FOR THE REQUIREMENT GENERALLY DESCRIBED BELOW. This will be a small business set aside. NAICS Code: 532412Size Standard: $7 Million The National Park Service, Denali National Park & Preserve requires the following rental service: Delivery and pick up of a Metso Minerals Nordberg CV 100 OR EQUAL 2006 model or newer to be used along the Denali National Park road system for approximately three months. Delivery shall be no later than June 14, 2009 at Toklat Road Camp, mile 54 Denali National Park road. The screen plant shall be free of oil, fuel, coolant and other fluid leaks and signs of such leaks. Hydraulic hoses shall be in excellent condition with no leaks, worn rubber or couplings. Tires shall have acceptable tread and be blemish free. Engine shall have new oil, filters and require no servicing during rental period. EQUIPMENT REQUIREDScreen Plant specifications:Metso Minerals Nordberg CV 100 OR EQUAL.5th wheel kingpin for towing.Diesel engine with a minimum of 44 HP.Transport width no more than 8' 6", transport height of no more than 12' and transport length of no more than 30'.Shakerhead size minimum of 11'X 7'.Loader bucket size range from 4 to 7 cubic yards.Under screen loader bucket opening a minimum of 13' in width.Shakerhead angle that is hydraulically adjustable up to 35 degrees and a remote control tipping cycle for clearing debris.Weigh not more than 26,000 lbs.Come with 1" screens attached and one set of 3" screens and mounting hardware as needed. Screens shall be retained by the NPS at the end of the rental period. MAINTENANCERoutine and preventative maintenance will be performed by the National Park Service. Repair of major breakdowns shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Contractor is required to respond within 24 hours after notification of major breakdown. LOCATION AND USE OF EQUIPMENTThe equipment required is for use by the National Park Service within Denali National Park & Preserve. The screen plant will be used to screen and process gravel in various locations within the Park including adjacent to wetlands and free water. Equipment must be in excellent mechanical condition. Equipment shall be used and operated by qualified National Park Service employees. Contractor shall be required to obtain a Denali National Park issed road permit and travel west of mile 31 on the park road after 10:00 pm for delivery and pickup of equipment. Specific information on how to obtain a road use permit shall be in the solicitation. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS SOLICITATION ALL VENDORS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION (CCR) DATABASE PRIOR TO AWARD.
