Description

Supply: The Air Force intends to issue a sole source award to International Paints LLC doing business as AKZO-Nobel Aerospace Coatings, for the following product: 1,700 kits of product code 10P20-13/EC-213 Primer to be used in the process of painting military aircraft. The estimated award date is 06 Mar 2009. The NAICS code for this requirement is 325510 with a size standard of 500 employees. THIS IS SOLE SOURCED TO INTERNATIONAL PAINT LLC DOING BUSINESS AS AKZO-NOBEL AEROSPACE COATINGS DUE TO AVAILABILITY OF GSA CONTRACT AS WELL AS QUALITY INSPECTION ENGINEERS DETERMINATION THAT AIRCRAFT PAINTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE APPLIED AS COMPLETE PRODUCT SYSTEMS. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is required to receive any award. Contractors can register electronically at http://www.ccr.gov. ORCA registration is also required and contractors can register electronically at https://orca.bpn.gov. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals will be considered within 15 days after the publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Authority is 10 USC 2304 (c) (1).
