Description
NASA/KSC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for SDAS HeavyDuty Instrumentation Cable, Twisted/Shielded, 5 Pair, 22 AWG (Per Specification:PTSI_Spec - 5 Pair, 22 AWG), referenced specifications. Multi-conductor Cable PairedTwisted Shielded Insulated (PTSI), 5 Pair, 22 AWGQuantity: 5,000 FTSpecifications:General Requirements:- Shall be approved for Class I, Division 2 installations per NFPA 70, Article 501- Shall meet the UL requirements for Instrumentation Tray Cable (Type ITC-ER)Specifications:1.0 Number of Conductors1.1 The cable shall have 10 conductors (5 pairs)2.0 Conductor Gauge2.1 All conductors shall be of size 22 AWG3.0 Copper Strands3.1 Conductors and braided shields shall be tinned copper conforming to the requirementsof ASTM B 333.2 Each conductor size shall contain the number of strands defined by ASTM B8 Class C3.3 The strands comprising each conductor size shall have a diameter defined by ASTM B 83.4 Length of Lay shall follow requirements in ASTM B 84.0 Insulation4.1Insulation shall be colored per standard ICEA/NEMA methods4.2 Insulation material shall be Crosslinked Polyethylene (XLPE)4.3 Insulation wall thickness shall be determined by UL 22505.0 Pairing5.1 Insulated conductors shall be grouped in pairs5.2 Pairs shall be twisted 6.0 Cabling 6.1 Multiple shielded twisted shielded pairs shall be bundled together with appropriatefiller to produce a cable with a circular cross section (as opposed to flat cable) 7.0 Shielding7.1 Each pair shall have its own foil shield with an internal drain wire7.2 Individual foil shields shall be electrically isolated from adjacent foil shields aswell as the overall outer cable shield7.3 A combination foil/braid shall cover the bundled twisted shielded pairs7.4 The braiding of outer shield shall be constructed of tinned copper with a minimum of90% coverage8.0 Cable Jacket (Sheath)8.1 The cable jacket material shall be Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE)Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements areinvited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references.All questions should be submitted in writing to Gloria McIntosh at email address:gloria.a.mcintosh@nasa.gov.Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-typeproduct.
