Description

The U.S. Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command (MLC) intends to issue a purchase order to Fairbanks Morse Engine to upgrade a Fairbanks Morse Main Diesel Engine. This is a Notice of Intent, not a solicitation. No solicitation will be issued for this sole source requirement and no other information will be provided. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Fairbanks Morse Engine is the only company that has the technical proprietary data necessary to upgrade a Fairbanks Morse Main Diesel Engine. This requirement is being solicited under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) and FAR 6.302-1. Fairbanks Morse Engine is the only company that has the technical proprietary data necessary to perform this upgrade. The Order will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures per FAR 13. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all information received within 2 days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A Determination by the Government not to compete as a result of quotes received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
