- This is a Sources Sought synopsis for acquisition planning purposes. No formal solicitation for this work exists at this time. All qualified concerns may submit capability statements for consideration. The capability statements will be used to determine appropriate procurement strategy, in particular whether a set-aside is warranted or an alternate procurement strategy is warranted. The Bureau of Reclamation is experiencing interference on an existing spread spectrum 2.4GHz (2.400 to 2.4835 GHz) 4-T-1 microwave radio system and is seeking a solution that would avoid having to change out expensive antenna and wave guide equipment and avoid having to rotate the antennas. Reclamation is interested in testing a pair of state of the art 2.4GHz 4-T1 spread spectrum radios that are designed to resolve interference problems. The radios should provide fine-tuning capability across the entire frequency band and have many center frequencies of operation. The radios should have an operating temperature of between -25 to +60 degrees C, or -40 to +149 degrees F at not less than 10-6 BER. The microwave radios should also have an on board spectrum analyzer to help with resolving the interference problem. Reclamation is seeking a 30 day product demonstration at the Drop 2 reservoir construction along Interstate Highway 8 in Imperial County, California approximately 30 miles east of El Centro, California, and 25 miles west of Yuma, Arizona. If during the 30 day test the radios do not resolve the interference problem the Bureau of Reclamation must be allowed to return the radios at no cost. Reclamation will fund return shipping costs. Firms interested in participating in the above procurement are invited to submit capability statements in response to this request. The capabilities package submitted should demonstrate the firm's ability, capability, and suggested product solutions. Packages should include the following information: (1) Firm's name, address, telephone and fax numbers, business size and type ( 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran, Small Business, Large Business, etc.), and point of contact to include e-mail address and telephone number; (2) Product information; (3) a commitment to participate in a 30 day product demonstration; (4) Commercial Terms and Conditions including payment provisions and intervals. Capability statements are due not later than March 12th, 2009 12pm PST. All responses to this Sources Sought notice shall be provided via electronic submission.
