TACOM-RI market research is conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10 and is intended to identify sources that can provide the following equipment: High Air Pressure Source (HAPS) to fill Fire Suppression devices in the field. The requirement is to fill up to 300 cubic feet at air pressures approaching 2300 psi and 100 cubic feet at pressures approaching 4500 psi. Preferred result is a HAPS that could achieve this cubic ft./psi fill within an objective timeframe of 1 hour and a threshold not to exceed 2 hours. Preferred weight is less than 120 lbs and with sufficient handles to allow for two-man lifting. Equipment should be ruggedized for military transport (on and off road, air, rail, and sea). Possible areas of consideration on how to achieve this output include but are not limited to the following: 1) 24 volt DC NATO slave cable driving an electric motor powered compressor (to allow connection to military vehicles), 2) Utilization of a low pressure air source (i.e. 100-150 psi) through a containerized air booster device, 3) Diesel engine powered compressor. Other methods to achieve the desired results are also encouraged. Companies are encouraged to respond if they have the capability to provide the identified equipment. Contractors must indicate CAGE code, business size, a contact name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and reference W52H09-09-T-0176. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. DO NOT SEND SAMPLES OR DEMONSTRATION PRODUCTS. Both e-mail and mail submittals will be accepted. E-mail responses are preferred. Mailed responses should be sent to the following address: TACOM-RI, 1 Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL 61299-7630, ATTN: AMSTA-LC-CTC-A, Ms Judy Pagliaro, FAX: (309) 782-8619, Email judy.r.pagliaro@us.army.mil.
