Description
The Request for Proposal suspense date has been extended to 10 March 2009; 3:00 EST. This synopsis is for E ddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Bond Testing Flaw Detectors. These are micro-processor based instruments for evaluating structural integrity and performing nondestructive testing inspections of aircraft and aircraft ground support equipment's metallic and non-metallic structures. They provide reliable means for performing non-destructive eddy current, ultrasonic, and bond testing inspections that include, but are not limited to, crack detection, corrosion testing, and thickness testing. They are also used to detect disbonds and/or delaminations from the front to the back surface in metal to metal, metal to nonmetal, nonmetal to nonmetal, and in all other types of multilayered aircraft and other composite structures using typical transducers and other nondestructive testing accessories found in the Department of Defense inventory. The requirement will be procured using FAR 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and will employ Performance Price Trade-Off procedures for a best value award decision. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price requirements-type contract as described in FAR 16.503. The approximate date for release of the Request for Proposal is 1 Dec 2008. The RFP will be posted at www.fedbizopps.gov. No telephone requests will be honored and no hard copies will be mailed out. All questions and answers will be uploaded to www.fedbizopps.gov. However, the identity of the potential offeror will not be included. Offerors are encouraged to register to receive notification for solicitation and all amendments /revisions and to check the FEDBIZOPPS site prior to submission of proposal. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor will be acceptable.
