- Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Purchase of Tire and Rim Assemblies, RG-31 The U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, for the acquisition of the 10 Tire and Rim Assemblies produced by Hutchinson Industries Inc. of Trenton, NJ for the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center. This acquisition is required to support the ATC by resupply of assemblies necessary to complete testing on the RG-31 MRAP Vehicle. Being that Hutchinson Industries, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer, and presently is the only producer which can meet US Army needs, the RDECOM Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division has decided to award this purchase order as a sole source acquisition. No solicitation or Request for Quote (RFQ) is available for this procurement. Nevertheless, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting the requirements described herein may submit a response no later than March 16, 2009, 12:00 PM to be considered. Responses to this posting must submitted in writing via e-mail only. A determination not to compete the described purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government.
