Description
Then National Institute of Aging, IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to Illumina; 9885 Towne Center Drive, San Diego, California. The Laboratory of Neurogenetics has an Illumina Genome Analyzer which allows the lab to generate highly accurate results in under a week for discoveries in genomics, epigenomics, gene expression analysis, and protein-nucleic acid interactions. This sophisticated equipment requires frequent visits from service technicians to ensure the Genome Analyzer is functioning properly. This allows the lab to continue obtaining consistent data and results for the many experiments conducted. The Lab of Neurogenetics cannot use another vendor to service this equipment as complex as the genome analyzer. This service requires a certified Illimina service tech for visits to perform many tasks including; troubleshoot problems, install new software upgrades, train staff, and perform preventive maintenance. Due to frequent visits and the cost for replacements parts it is in the Governments best interest to continue the warranty on the Genome Analyzer with Illumina. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct any future competitive procurement requirements. Only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements, 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1 (b) (1). The period of performance is for 1 year. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) is 811219 and the Standard Size is 6.5.
