Description
Drydock and repair survey vessel Irvington. The Irvington is an aluminum, hydrofoil assisted, catamaran vessel. General dimensions are: length 54 ft, beam 20 ft, molded depth 9 ft-8.5 in, maximum displacement of 37 tons. Due to the sensitive nature of the hull mounted transducers and special arrangement of the hull due to the hydrofoils, the vessel must be hauled out of the water with a travel lift. Work to be performed includes hull cleaning, blasting and painting. The Government will deliver the plant without cost to the successful bidder anywhere between Mobile, AL and Pascagoula, MS. Prospective bidders may arrange to inspect the vessel by contacting Mr. Matt Tate at 251-957-6019 or Mr. Scott Beams at 251-694-4217. The Government will take possession of the vessel at the contractor's facility upon completion of the work. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business. The NAICS code is 336611. To qualify as a small business under this code, a firm must have no more than 1,000 employees. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered. This is a commercial items acquisition. The solicitation will be available for download at https://www.fbo.gov on or about 17 Mar 2009. All prospective contractors, subcontractors and suppliers must be registered in Federal Business Opportunities-FBO before they will be allowed to download solicitation information. The solicitation will not be provided in a printed paper format, however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Governments best interest. Therefore, it is the bidders responsibility to check the website for solicitation posting and any changes to the solicitation.
