- Description
- This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. There is no solicitation package available. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ is seeking sources that may be capable of providing a DOUBLE VACUUM DEBULK TOOL, part number 901-232-006-101 or equal which is required for the Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot Level of Maintenance for the AH-1Z and UH-1Y aircraft. This requirement is currently satisfied by part number 901-232-006-101, which was originally designed by Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. and ATEC Inc. The United States Navy is investigating the feasibility of procuring the DOUBLE VACUUM DEBULK TOOL for current and future aircraft support requirements. The DOUBLE VACUUM DEBULK TOOL consists of an aluminum base assembly and an outer box assembly which latch together. The unit is used to debulk and remove entrapped gasses from composite laminate patch materials in conjunction with the COMPOSITE REPAIR SET, VACUUM-TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER, part number HSC9200N-01, Cage 0ED96) which has one vacuum port. Consequently, the incoming vacuum connector of this Support Equipment must tee into two lines: one to the inner bag and the other to the outer box. The base assy includes internal vacuum plumbing, vacuum gages, valves and connectors for heater blanket, vacuum input and thermocouples. The base also contains an insulator, a 18" x 18" heater blanket and caul plate. Wiring pass-throughs' are vacuum tight. The outer box (cover) includes two handles and an integral seal. The outer box has a four inch internal height. This unit must have good structural integrity to resist war page under vacuum and heat. The Government is looking for potential sources for this requirement. All interested parties should send company’s capability and/or descriptive literature, as well as any comments or questions to Kate Murtagh, e-mail: Kathryn.Murtagh @navy.mil, fax (732) 323-2359
