Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source contract for the following items related to the Mission Computers (Gen II) as used in H-1 Lot 3 aircraft and higher determination, in support of the H-1 CASS program: Repair/support services for two (2) each, “Ready For Installation” (RFI), Mission Computers (Gen II), P/N 8940706-0003 and two (2) Mission Computers (Gen II), P/N 8940267-0003 for the H-1 aircraft, to allow I-level capability for these units. The repair services are NTE five (5) years. The contractor will provide engineering support and sustainment for the required items. This support will give the government access to professionals intimately familiar with the theory-of-operation and design of these parts. The Government intends to procure these services under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Northrop Grumman Guidance and Electronics Company, Inc., Woodland Hills, CA is currently the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the above listed items. Northrop Grumman owns the proprietary design right and technical data necessary to meet this requirement. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
