Description
Construction of Category 1 Instrument Landing System for Runway 36, Council Bluffs Municipal, Iowa.Construction of a Category 1 Instrument Landing System (ILS) for Runway 36 at Council Bluffs Municipal Airport in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Contractor shall coordinate exact sequence of work with the airport authority through the COTR prior to construction. Work includes but is not limited to: 1.Furnish competent surveying resources to properly layout the subject sites and provide horizontal and vertical control. 2.Site preparation for the Localizer and DME site, including installation of the following items:Reinforced concrete foundations for the Localizer antenna platform, equipment shelter, and electrical equipment.Elevated wood platform for Localizer & DME antennas, including stairs and handrails; and Localizer antennas, cable raceway, and distribution unit.10' x 20' fiberglass equipment shelter, including lightning protection and grounding systems.Earth Electrode Systems (EES) around the platform and equipment shelter.Conduit and cabling between the Localizer antenna array and equipment shelter. Steel mast for DME antenna, junction boxes, and conduit and cabling between the equipment shelter and DME antenna mast.Crushed rock surfacing at the facility plot, and a crushed rock and concrete access road between Taxiway B-1 and the equipment shelter plot.Duct for primary power between the Localizer site and existing electrical utility equipment, and secondary power conduit and cable. 3. Site preparation for Glide Slope (GS) facility, including installation of the following items:Reinforced concrete foundations for the GS antenna tower, equipment shelter, and electrical rack.Antenna tower and antennas, including lightning protection system.10' x 12' fiberglass equipment shelter, including grounding.EES around the antenna tower and equipment shelter.Conduit and cabling between GS antenna tower and equipment shelter, and between shelter, electrical equipment, and handholes.Crushed rock surfacing at the facility plot.Concrete access road between Taxiway B and the GS plot.Duct for primary power between the GS site and existing utility equipment, and secondary power conduit and cable. Electrical distribution rack with meter and disconnect switches for the GS and future PAPI facilities. 4. Duct and RMM control cable between the LOC and GS facilities, includingArmored HDPE duct (GFM), handholes, and 12 pair #19A control cable (GFM) Installation of one each Field Termination Unit (FTU). 5. Duct for telephone cable between the Localizer site and the edge of airport property, adjacent to McPherson Ave. 6. Install and maintain erosion control measures to protect ditches and inlets. 7. Accomplish other incidental duties to accommodate site peculiar conditions. 8. Implement and maintain a quality control plan to ensure contract compliance. Conduct all required tests and checks to verify contract compliance.
