Description
The previous notice is modified as follows: The United States Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) intends to negotiate and award a five year, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for CN-1552/A and CN-1564/A Spinning Mass Rate Gyroscopes (NSNs 6615-01-110-1083, 6615-01-110-1082) on a sole source basis to Atlantic Inertial Systems, 250 Knotter Drive, Cheshire, CT 06410. The estimated ceiling of this effort shall be 5,000 rate gyroscopes. The minimum quantity will be 600 units. The delivery schedule will be approximately 80 units per month. AIS acquired the former producers business line and the technical data and expertise to produce the rate gyroscopes. Additionally, the Government does not possess a current detailed Technical Data Package completely defining the form, fit, function, and testing requirements of the items being procured. AIS is the only source that has received Air Worthiness Certification by the approval authority of AMCOM Aviation Engineering Directorate (AED) for the required items. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This synopsis is being published for informational purposes only. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals and responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. Further determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any updates to this synopsis will be posted to the website maintained at the CECOM LCMC, Fort Monmouth, Interactive Business Opportunities Page at https://abop.monmouth.army.mil. Registration for user ID and password will be necessary in order to access the webpage. Please contact IBOP help desk, toll free at 1-888-414-6277 for any technical assistance. Any offeror that may be capable of meeting the requirements described herein may submit a response no later than 11 March 2009 at 4:00 PM E.T. Please refer to Government Numbered Note 22.
