- The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Tucson, AZ 85723 is seeking small business contractors that can provide Spinal Column Stimulation devices that are manufactured by Boston Scientific Neuromodulation and approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA). Any interested parties will be required to submit proof of authorization to sell items that are manufactured by Boston Scientific Neuromodulation. Any interested parties that can provide this proof can contact the SAVAHCS for information on the items required. The SAVAHCS contracting office will give preference in the following order: Veteran Owned Small Business Concerns, Veteran Owned Small Business Concern, all other small businesses. If no interested parties can provide proof of distributorship that the SAVAHCS intends to award to Boston Scientific Neuromodulation, 12740 San Fernando Rd, Sylmar, CA 91342 on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The acquisition will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12 for the purchase of Spinal Column Stimulation Devices. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 334510 with small business size standard of 500 employees. Any interested parties who wish to identify their interests and capabilities must provide any/all documentation to the Contracting Officer no later than 3:00 PM local, 13 Mar 2009. All documents shall be mailed or emailed to Carlos Acosta (678/9-90C), Contracting Officer, 3601 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85723 or carlos.acosta2@va.gov. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Boston Scientific Neuromodulation. This notice is not request for competitive proposals or quotes.
